C.R. Mackintosh

Charles Rennie Mackintosh, London, 1864 - Glasgow, 1928

He was one of the most creative talents of his time. He studied at the Glasgow School of Art, and was apprentice to the architect John Hutchinson before joining Honeyman and Keppie. The spirit of his work is enclosed in his main creation, the Glasgow School of Art. Here we can admire the development of his career, from the influence of Art Nouveau to Modernism with its geometrical purism. His furniture projects are considered as the most original and vanguard in between all of the British furnishings of the time.
